Hands-On Fermentation Class: DIY Sauerkraut Workshop

Get ready to bring old-world tradition into your kitchen with this hands-on fermentation class led by UC Master Food Preservers! In this 75-minute session, you’ll learn the fundamentals of fermentation—how beneficial bacteria transform simple ingredients into delicious, gut-friendly foods.

Participants will roll up their sleeves and make their own batch of classic sauerkraut, packing a full quart jar to take home. In just two weeks, it’ll be perfectly tangy and ready to enjoy—just in time for an Oktoberfest-inspired feast.

This free class will be held at the Oceanside Public Library Mission Branch. Come curious and leave confident, with the skills to keep fermenting at home!
