The DIII-D National Fusion Facility is a national user facility funded by the U.S Department of Energy, Office of Science. It operates the largest operating tokamak in the United States, called DIII-D, and hosts researchers from more than 100 institutions worldwide. The focus of the DIII-D National Fusion Facility is performing plasma physics and fusion research for the purpose of advancing fusion energy as a limitless, non-carbon-based energy source capable of meeting global energy needs.
